How long does it take to get my order? + -
What is the shelf life of Nymphaea Botanical Perfumes? + -
Our Jojoba oil based botanical perfumes include no preservatives so we suggest a shelf life of 1,5-2 year. To keep your fragrance at its best condition, please store it away from direct sunlight and heat.
How do I take care of my perfume? + -
Botanical perfumes are sensitive to light and heat. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to keep your Nymphaea perfume away from extreme temperatures such as excessive heat or freezing cold, and also to avoid exposure to direct sunlight or prolonged artificial light.
How long does the perfume last on my skin? + -
That varies from person to person, and it also depends on the scent. Generally, your Nymphaea botanical perfume will be noticeable for approximately 2-5 hours, or longer depending on your skin. Keep in mind that the longevity of natural perfumes is not as great as synthetic fragrances, because natural ingredients biodegrade (as they should) whereas synthetic ingredients don’t readily break down, and may even persist in the environment for a very long time.
There is so much beauty in botanical perfumes, you don’t expect them to have the staying power of a synthetic scent, but that is part of their charm. They don’t enter a room before you do, but they walk along with you. Botanical perfumes are gentler, more complex, with more subtle nuances and a more intriguing personality.
You can help your natural perfume last longer by following these tips:
-moist your skin before application.
-don’t just apply to pulse points. Pulse points are great activators for your natural perfume, and they tend to be warmer, so they emit a stronger waft of scent initially. But applying only to pulse points may also cause your fragrance to break down faster. In addition, fragrance rises, so you are much more likely to smell your scent throughout the day if you include an application to the lower part of your body, such as the back of your knees.
-keep your perfume out of direct sunlight and heat.
-don’t get overheated. If that happens, just re-apply!
-don’t rub your wrists applying your perfume. That’s a myth that is actually not true! Rubbing the perfume on your skin will quickly break down the delicate top notes and make your natural fragrance disappear more quickly. Just spray and gently pat wrists together.
Are Nymphaea Botanical Perfumes made with organic ingredients? + -
We always use therapeutic grade-certified organic pure essential oils. It is our first and foremost prerequisite that all of our ingredients are natural, so that we are sure to deliver a safe, high-quality, botanical perfume.
Are essential oil perfumes safe? If they are natural, doesn’t that automatically mean that I won’t have any skin reaction due to the perfume? + -
Natural ingredients can be potent and active (which is why natural medicine is so effective). So, just like some people react to certain plants, some people may also react to natural perfumes. It’s not very common with our fragrances but in rare occasions it can happen. If you experience any itching or rash after applying the perfume, please stop using the product immediately. We are more than happy to swap your perfume for another one of our collection. In case there is any skin reaction, please email us so we can help you find a perfume that works for you.
We always suggest a patch test before using any new product – even in the case of natural perfumes – especially if you are more sensitive than average.
Do you use synthetic musk? + -
Of course not! Nymphaea botanical perfumes has a strict policy of no animal testing and cruelty toward animals in the production of natural perfumes. This would eliminate our support of the use of civet, musk and similar products. I only choose a combination of essential oils and extracts (such as ylang ylang and patchouli) that have a musky character.
Why botanical perfumes come with this cost? + -
Essential oils are distilled straight from the plant through steam distillation; this process is the most expensive and the most lengthy one. High quality always comes with a cost.
To give an example of the high cost, let’s look at the rose: it takes about 60,000 roses (about 180 lbs) to make one ounce (29.57 ml) of rose essential oil. Therapeutic grade essential oils are even more expensive because there are available in limited quantities.
Why should I replace the perfume I am used to wearing with a Nymphaea Botanical Perfume? + -
If you take a look at the ingredient label of any commercial perfume, you will come across a quite long list of unknown chemical substances. And you wonder, am I smelling the scent of a plant or a flower, or is this just an undisclosed mixture of various scent chemicals whose effects on my health are questionable to say the least?
Personally, I wouldn’t call such a mixture as perfume. It is far from it. Perfumes are the ones who come straight from nature, and they are produced with the least possible intervention from humans. True natural perfumes uplift our spirit and senses, and reconnect us with Mother Nature.
Why are natural perfumes unisex? + -
Natural perfumes are gender-flexible. This means that they tend to automatically smell more feminine on women and more masculine on men. Mainly due to our skin ph and the hormone levels.
Is it ok for pregnant/breastfeeding women to wear Nymphaea Botanical Perfumes? + -
This is for sure something to discuss with your gynaecologist or your midwife. We suggest you avoid any products that include jasmine, aromatic herbs and spices. Perhaps even more important is the concerns relating with the use of synthetic scents during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as many of these ingredients are potent endocrine disruptors and can have significant effects on both your growing baby, your breastmilk and on your reproductive health.
I’ve been using a Nymphaea Botanical Perfume for quite some time now, and I’ve noticed that the fragrance slightly changes. Why is that? + -
Nymphaea Botanical Perfumes are made of pure, organic essential oils, and they contain no chemicals and no synthetic substances. This means that, since we are not using any chemicals or preservatives, the perfumes remain alive; nothing is there to stop the scent to mature at a certain point in the note scale. Natural perfumes mature and get better with age, just like good wines.
I'd like to sample your products at a store, can you provide a list of where they are sold? + -

I have a small store and I would like to carry your line. + -
My wholesale line is something I am working on, but is not quite ready yet. Once the line sheets and order forms are ready, I will send those along to you. My perfumes do best in boutique style shops where the customer holds high standards for natural products and fine art. Thank you for your interest!
